riku's favors checker in google sheets tutorial
i'm always looking for riku's fodder when i trade with people, but i was tired of manually checking the series in the sort by series tool above. so, i made a spreadsheet to check for me!!
if you're confused by spreadsheets, worry not, as i have made this as user friendly as i possibly can. if you have any quesitons, feel free to ping me (@pawpyrus) in #coding-questions!
here are the steps to follow:
- make a spreadsheet
- set up the columns
- gather your collecting series
- format your collecting series
- functions
- profit!
step 1: make a spreadsheet
pretty self explanitory. i will be using google sheets for my spreadsheet and recommend you do the same if you don't know anything about spreadsheets, as i'm unsure if the formulas will be able to roll-over one to one. do you have your spreadsheet? great! it's blank and boring: that's to be expected.
step 2: set up the columns
ok, so now that you have a spreadsheet, we have to set up what it will look like. feel free to decorate it however you'd like. i like to have 50px width borders around each edge of my spreadsheet, but do whatever you please :D
you can keep A as it is: all we need is for it to be there. skip a column (i fill it in with color to act as a divider), then make column C as wide as you'd like. this is where the titles of your collecting series will go. i find that 150px is a good width. finally, column D should be as wide as possible, as this is where the resulting riku's card list will go. mine is 500px.
this is how my spreadsheet looks right now!

step 3: gather your collecting series
it's not foolproof, but the easiest way to do this is to grab your needed card list and throw that into the series sorter above. copy and paste the resulting data from the text area, NOT the images into column C. it will look a bit crazy since you have so many cards.
it should look like this!

step 4: format your collecting series
now, go through and delete all the cells that have cards in them. you're going to want to keep the series (obviously), but we don't need the cards there. once you have a column of just the series, copy the column, go to any website that remove additional linebreaks, and paste the result from that site into column C.
it should look like this now:

step 5: functions
this might seem scary, but i can assure you it's literally so fine! paste the formula below into D1, then click and drag the blue circle at the bottom of the highlighted cell until the bottom of your collecting series, pictured below.

step 6: profit!
now, you're all set up!!! yippe!! wasn't that easy?
you may be asking how you actually use this spreadsheet. never fear! it's very simple. all you have to do is sort the tradepile of the person you'd like to trade with by series. copy the result from the text area NOT the images and past it into column A. it's good practice to clear that column from your previous use.
this is how it should look once you've pasted the trade data! this is also useful for your very own tradepile when riku's rolls around each week!
it can look a little crazy, so feel free to decorate it to your hearts content. i recommend wrapping the D column so the card names are all visible.
